This might be a girl thing but I judge how people will behave in a relationship based on how they kiss me. If a man places his hands on the back of my neck, slowly drawing me close and then captivating my mouth I know right then and there ... He's going to pay attention to the little things. But if a man starts licking my chin... I know to run! Run far far away!
I think it should be the same way for working relationships. I sincerely wish that before I interviewed/met with a client I could kiss them. See if they pay attention to what is going on. Come on, how many times have you had a boss or a client who just "licked" all over your face and left you there completely confused, embarrassed, and maybe even freaked out? We've all been there. Wouldn't be nice to know if they did that before you signed contracts with them?
So I think if you are confused if your new client will be there for the long haul I say just kiss him/(her)!
